The Book of One A New Age Book of One series 1 eBook Jordan Baker

I picked this up for 99 cents and since it had no reviews, I wasn't sure what I was getting into but for the price, its not half bad. The editing is rough and even though it didn't distract me from the story, the grammar nazi in me wasn't happy. There were alot of typos and wrong spelling or usage of words. I liked the story and the characters were overall well done but could have used a little more fleshing out to some extent. Several of the characters stand out, such as Aaron, Ehlane and the princess but others tend to stay in the background and never fully develop, like Cerre and Aaron's friend Borracan. Maybe in the next book they will get more face time.
The author has potential and I suspect he will only get better with time and a little editing. Not the most incredible story I have ever read but I would recommend it for the price.

The Book of One A New Age Book of One series 1 eBook Jordan Baker Reviews

I saw that this book had one too many bad reviews, I got into reading having low expectations about it. I could not have been more wrong. This book had a great plot , very interesting characters, really good story that keeps you not only entertained but wanting more as well. I just finished reading it , I really liked it. I even bought the sequel to see what happens next! I'll review the sequel once I finished reading it, I have high expectations now though.

5 out 5
First let me say this, grammar, editing, miss-spelled words have zero effect on me if the story is interesting and keeps me involved. I mention this because many of the reviewers are so hard on this author about those things and have given him less stars because of it. I have found the whole series immersive and fun to read. While the story is not ground breaking, the characters are interesting and fun to identify with. If you like the farm boy turned hero type story than you will enjoy this series. Make it 2.99 a book and its a deal. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.
I loved Jordan Baker's "Book of One A New Age" and the storyline/characters.

However, I had to deduct 1 star for the MAJOR amounts of spelling errors in his first book (unfortunately, there are also a lot of spelling errors in book 2 also). Normally, most of the other ebooks from other authors have 2-3 spelling errors. But, Jordan Baker's book probably has spelling errors in every chapter.

I don't know who is editor is, but the tally of spelling errors gets pretty ridiculous.
This was a series that starts strongly with the first three books but unfortunately starts to taper of at the fourth book. The series unfortunately also has one of the worst endings of all time. It was a series that while I was intrigued with the first few books deeply let me down in the conclusion of the story.
Really enoyed the book. I am not one to worry about trivial things like spelling, grammar, or sentence structure (especially when an author does their own editing) since I have a brain and an active imagination.

Jordan Baker has set up some excellent characters that will continue to ensnare your attention while reminding you of some hardships from your own life. While simultaneously sharing the sensation of overcoming obstacles.

I would suggest this book, and series (second time reading the series), to new and veteran fans of fantasy alike.
While i enjoyed this book there were many grammatical errors, as well as misused words. Because of this, at times it distracted from the general flow of the book. i had to stop and try to figure out what the author meant to write. To put it bluntly the author needs to proofread her work at the very least. I'd gladly do so. I'd even do so for free.
I'm an avid reader, as well as big supporter of aspiring authors. Saying that i do believe this author shows promise and i wish her my best. But please, please get an editor. Trust me, it will do wonders. If you can re-edit you current books please do so. It just might help with future sells. As well as better reviews.
All in all this book was an intriguing and enjoyable book if a bit predictable at times.
I never write a review of a book unless I have gone beyond the first in a series to see if it is worthwhile or not. I am now reading "A Dragon Born" and after having gone to this point I can readily recommend this series. Why is that?

It has a well developed plot and characters. I am having a hard time putting the book down.

The story is of an orphaned young man, Aaron. Raised by an Uncle he ends up alone as he makes his way through most of the series. Through fate he become friends or is befriended by a variety of men and women of diverse abilities ( physical skill or magic). Care is taken by the author to develop all characters to the point that you come to care for them and are anxious to know what part they will ultimately play in the grand finally of the series.

Like many new authors, this series was not edited as well as it should have been. Spelling errors and missing words occasionally plague spots here and there but never to the point of detracting from the story. This author is very talented and like many new authors with limited resources ( editors) it is well that we cut them some slack.
I am looking forward to more from this gifted writer.
