I thoroughly enjoyed the Time Bubble. It's well-written and easy-to-follow. After the first few pages I wasn't too sure; a romance between teenagers? A time bubble that could only be used to go forward in time? But the author managed to grab my attention quickly enough and I didn't mind that the main characters were teenagers. Soon, some older main characters were introduced so that helped. :)As another reviewer noted, the British lingo might be new to American readers, but that wasn't a problem for me, a Doctor Who fan since 1985.
There were a few minor events that I didn't buy into, but because I was so engrossed in the book I let them pass.
It's rare when I find a book I can't put down, but this book did it for me. A few slow parts, but those are in every book, and usually it helped with character development or simply added some details, and then then the pace picked up again quickly enough.

The Time Bubble eBook Jason Ayres Reviews
Fantastic...so very much fun to read. Better than I ever expected. The author must have had a wonderful time writhing this, I know I would have. Jason Agree has so much talent and uses it to deliver to the reader a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Put something special and fun in your reading experience, read this book. So little price, so much joy.
Whenever I woke up in the middle of the night, I opened my app to read this book and always tried to finish it (but I took my time to make sure I enjoyed it to the fullest, of course!) as I could not wait to know what happened next ... and the book was definitely worth all of those sleep times. I am going to read the next book in the series now. )
I've been caught in time travel recently. Have sampled works from a variety of authors and each view of time travel has had its own identity. This book was different from the others and still was a very enjoyable read. I hesitate to say too much as the fun is in the experience of reading this story.
I’ve read quite a few time travel stories, and this author definitely had a fresh take on the subject that was quite delightful. A time bubble is discovered in a newly excavated tunnel. Anyone who walks through it unwittingly is automatically pushed forward in time. Just how far in time they’re advanced doubles each time someone enters the time bubble. Because the initial leaps forward in time are but seconds, then minutes, then hours, our heroes have time to figure out what to make of this discovery before the leaps forward in time take on far more ominous overtones. As one of them doing the math figures out later, if you have a penny and doubled it each day, inside of a month you’d be a millionaire. With that revelation comes the awareness of just how serious this discovery could get in a hurry.
But there are a few complications. For one, these are teens that have discovered the time bubble and that means teen logic applies. That is to say, they don’t trust adults who in turn don’t trust them, so the tendency is to work this monumental problem out amongst themselves. As you can imagine, things quickly go from bad to worse the longer they take to inform the authorities. But then, that’s just the A-story.
The B-story is what you would expect from a YA novel, it’s full of romantic intrigue and teens pining over people they can’t have, and the ones that should be together, making a flubbing mess of trying to get together. Just how much hormones take precedence even over a discovery as dramatic as the time bubble leads to no shortage of laughs and screw-ups.
Characters unfold and take on depth as the story moves along, and I was pleased that this YA story was different than most in that the adults have a more substantial role to play in things—even if that comes much later in the story. And their romantic trysts and involvement with the time bubble adds a lot of delicious plot twists and complications, and makes the story far more accessible to a broader age range of readers.
All in all, a great set up novel for a time travel series that promises to get far more dramatic and exciting as it goes along—keeping in mind what I said earlier that each time someone goes through the time bubble the amount of time traversed is doubled.
...Was it fair to ask her to wait for him that long?" Enjoyable sci-fi/time travel book that for me focuses on Peter, a teacher with a deadly disease whom becomes romantically involved with a younger policewoman and determines that his only hope for long-term survival is to utilize the time bubble in hopes that a cure can be found in the near term. Best part of the book is the "Time Travel Team" comprised of five individuals all of whom I found were likeable characters. Having just gone book to read the book description and having expanded the "Show More" tab I then became aware that the sequel "Global Cooling" will be available soon which does make me curious as to what direction that book will be taking. A very good book, I did enjoy!
I zipped through this book in a few hours. I felt the character were rather shallow and the premise less than exhilarating. Each time someone goes through the time bubble they slip forward in time for twice the amount of time as the last traveler. So some one with a bad disease might slip forward until a cure for the disease is found. Of course everyone you cared about has aged or died while you are away but hey maybe you might get cured. I found it all very predictable and not very dramatic. Of all the time traveling concepts this is about the lamest. Most of the characters were teens with little character interest. I don't like to leave negative reviews and it seems this series has its fans since there are a bunch of books in the series although this one stands alone with no cliff hanger ending. I just found it a bore. Sorry.
